Lukas Avendaño is a Zapotec muxhe (women who are born as men, and who have lived in a gender rights paradise for hundreds of years) from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico.
Lukas can be thought of as an actor, a dancer, a teacher, or all of this at the same time. His pedagogical facet directly addresses the encounter with the Otherness, as part of oneself. For him, the decolonization of Knowledge, through the arts and education, is the only way to achieve such an encounter.
